Suspended ceilings: do’s and don’ts

Suspended ceilings: do’s and don’ts

They’re energy-efficient, they’re easy to install, and they can drastically improve the look and feel of a workspace. So, it’s no wonder more and more businesses are turning to suspended ceilings as an interior design solution. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some our top do’s and don’ts about suspended ceilings South-West businesses should be aware of.

Do: Think about the detail

Not all suspended ceilings are created equal, so it’s important to think about what will look best in the space you have, this means drilling down into the detail. Things like the shape of the tiles you use, to the colours you want, right down to the specific height of the ceiling, will all make a difference to the final look.

Don’t: Fail to prepare

As the old saying goes, failing to prepare is preparing to fail, so make sure you’ve got everything ready before installation begins. Ensure things like plumbing aren’t going to be affected, and that you’ve considered how the electrics are going to work with the new ceiling.

Do: Think about the cost

When it comes to suspended ceilings, there are all sorts of price ranges to choose from. Think about the size of the installation you want, and the budget you have available, before making a decision on what style to go for.

Don’t: Cover up existing issues

Using a suspended ceiling to hide an existing problem, such as damp or a water leak, won’t make the issue go away. Eventually, that issue could cause damage to your newly installed ceiling, and you’re back to square one. So, make sure you fix any existing problems before installation.

Do: Use a high-quality installation firm

Thanks for helping me understand that there are a lot of price ranges to choose from when it comes to suspended ceilings. I should probably ask around from various contractors near the area to understand the costs of getting a temporary suspended ceiling system for our property. We just want some improvements in the appearance of our home aside from the benefits we might get from that type of design, since I read before that it can improve the building’s insulation.
